Can you confirm how many firewalls and av's you have running there. Looks to me like there are at least two firewalls and possibly the same for AV's too.

I only have AVG and Zone Alarm running.
Others were used for troubleshooting in this post and others.

Looking at the OTL log, zone alarm has had trouble starting. Am wondering if maybe that has something to do with it too.
Try uninstalling it and using the Windows firewall.

    Try this too;

Download Dial-a-Fix and run it. Select the 'Check all' (green arrow) and then hit 'GO.'
Reboot when done and see how things are now.

    Crunchie,
Computer now fast and running like it should. Let me see for a few days. Zone Alarm was messing things up?
Do I still have Windows firewall? Is this OK for protection?
    Thanks
    Dave

If you go into the Control Panel and open the Windows Firewall applet, it will tell you if it is running.
Windows firewall is fine (although XP's does not prevent outgoing connections), butI prefer a 3rd party firewall myself though, with Comodo being my choice.

I'll be here when you report back :).

    Crunchie,
Yes, Windows firewall is running. I will not reinstall Zone Alarm. Computer is running much better without.
    Thanks for all your help.

    Great :). No worries.

Launch OTL and click on the Cleanup button. Follow the prompts.

They look to be in DoctorWeb's quarantine folder. Uninstall your version of java if it is not the latest, then install the latest JRE from Sun Java.
    How has the pc been?
