    Hi Sven,

I think the second bugcheck parameter is nt status code but it is not document at microsoft (the description is error code). If my guess is correct, c0000402 means "all user trust quota exceeded ". This is userid setup issue.

    Hi,

Reset all the login ids may resolve the problem.

    Hi all,

    I just remembered something,

This only happens when I first boot up in the morning or when the computer was off for a longer time and had time to cool off. When I do a reboot, every thing is warm and it boots fine. Even with a total shutdown and power off it will boot fine because the hardware is still warm.

Maybe, just maybe I need to reseat all hardware and connections, especially the ones I replaced several months ago.

    Any thoughts?

    Sven

    Hi,

Your status code is 00000402 and not c0000402 (ALL_USER_TRUST_QUOTA_EXCEEDED). NT status code 00000402 is undocumented. I suspect 00000402 is related to hardware error. I search google and I find a similar hit and the culprit is overheat. What is the temperature of your CPU and motherboard.

    Coc2004,

    That does not make sense.

This only happens when my computer is cold.
Only on the first boot of the day or after a long period of being shut down and having time to cool off.

It may be hardware related. I will take this thing apart and reseat every connection and ad on card I have, but not before the weekend.

I will let you know what happened after that
    Thanks again
    Sven

    Hi cpc2004

The link you gave me states that the computer us up for several days and then shuts down. My computer never shuts down by itself and is not running for days. I usually turn it on when I come home from work at about 6pm and it is turned of by midnight.
I experience no problem while it is running.
After it cools down over night, and then is turned on, I get the blue screen.
So my computer is acting up when it is cold, not hot.
I'm just thinking here, but metal expands when it gets warm and the prongs and other connections may fit better when it is warm and can not connect properly when it is cold. When I was upgrading a few month ago, I might not have connected every thing properly. After it heats up it is OK. It only takes a minute to be warm and that may be good enough to connect properly.
Anyways, I will report back after I reseated everything.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Sven

    Hi all,

Yesterday evening, when I was booting my Computer, I hit the F8 key, wanting to go int safe mode in trying to solve my blue screen problem. At that time the phone rang and I answered it. I hung up after 1/2 a minute and then decided to boot normally. I did not get a blue screen. The reason is, I think, the motherboard had time to warm up.
I will test this out again tonight and over the weekend. If this is the case, that it needs to warm up before booting, is there a way to do this automatically so I don't have to hit F8 and wait for it to warm up? Is my hunch that something is not seated properly correct?

    Thanks for any help

    Sven

Hi cpc2004, and all others that like to help

You where concerned about the temp in my computer.
    Here is what Everest reports: MB = 39 c HDD = 42 c
It does not give me a number for my CPU,
but a program called central brain identifier shows it at 39 c.
After heavy gaming ( Doom 3 ) it goes up to 59 c.

At no time does it shut down my computer.
I only get those blue screen on the first start up of the day or after a long period
of being shut and having time to cool down.

The error is the same each time: 00000402

I removed and reseated all ad on cards and all connections and cleaned out the case.
(I had a large family of dust bunnies living in there)
    The error persists.

    Any more ideas?

    Thanks
    Sven

    Hi Sven,

I believe that it is hardware problem. As you know hardware problem is very difficult to diagnostic. If you CPU goes to 59C after playing game, it is quite hot.

    Cpc2004,

I also thing it is a hardware problem. I downloaded Windows Memory Diagnostic from MS and it found no problems. I guess my next step would be to remove 1 ad on card after the other to find out if 1 of them is the problem. This will take time, because once it starts up, the computer is warm and I no longer have the error. So the best I can do is 1 item a day.

BTW: my cpu is a AMD 3000+ mobile and amd's are running hotter then intel.
Like I said, it never shut down on me when hot, only when cold.

    Still have the blue screen.

    Hi All,

Yesterday, I installed on a separate drive, a copy of windows xp sp1. That was my original windows copy. After booting today, I get the same blue screen that I have been getting from the drive that I normally use. That tells me that it must be a hardware problem, because nothing is installed except win xp sp1 and I had xp working when I first got it. I keep on removing different hardware trying to find what it is, but have had no luck so far. What if the problem is my motherboard? How do you test that?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Sven

I've merged your latest thread with this one as it is a continuation of your existing thread and you will get the best response this way.
Substiuting another motherboard is the only sure fire way I am aware of.

    Hi all,
I am still trying to solve my blue screen problem.
Last couple of times when I booted up I taped F8 and selected "Debugging" from the menu. I was hoping for some log or text file and could not find it. Just now I found some .tmp files. I could not open them, but after renaming one to .txt I was able to look inside. The file name is DUMP5cb6.tmp
I could not make out what this is all about, but I read "system has been shut downâ€. The rest of it is just symbols and random letters.
If any one knows what to do with this, please let me know and I can post it here for further analysis.

    Thanks
    Sven
