After reading reports on SpyBot being an excellent finder of Malware, decided to try SpyBot on my HP Presario computer. Initial run of SpyBot however caused concern as MS Security Essentials for no reason ceased to protect my computer and required an immediate scan of MSE to regain protection. After several runs of SpyBot, decided to use Revo Uninstaller, this proved most unsatisfactory. On using MS Regedit, found that SpyBot showed at least two hundred references to SpyBot and found in this area of the registry many references to other unknown Software titles not to my knowledge being present. Most of these references where names ending WWW, .com, .de etc. Malwarebyte in contrast had very few unerased references. I would certainly not recommend SpyBot as it certainly appears in my case that if required to removing SpyBot is anything but easy. I stress this post is not to offend anyone reading this post, but merely to make known my findings in a helpfull way.

I posted in another section on here that I ran Spybot, MBAM, and CCleaner and NONE of them caused MSE to shut down or act funny in any way. I tried Spybot with and with out the TeaTimer on. Not a problem at all. MSE kept running fine.

I am beginning to wonder if you don't have something on there that maybe you should head to the Malware section and do what is listed there. Maybe you have a nasty on there that needs something else to catch it.

MrBill, I entirely agree with you and I have for sometime now tried to locate what is causing the problem. The problem has started since envolving myself with the various malware software and not forget CCleaner. It appears that I have certainly inherited a nasty bug and hope to find an antidote to clean out the bug. What is puzzling me, registry is now showing a large amount of entries that did not appear until now.

SpywareDr, SpyBot was removed and this caused the computer requiring a "Restore ", this step was carried out to a date prior to 23:3:2012. Computer now running today much slower than previously experienced.
I often peruse the registry without making any changes.
The long list of files some ending .com, net etc have never shown up before, can only think one of the Malware titles or CCleaner is to blame, but using Revo Uninstaller has failed to remove the mentioned files, and Revo in this instance is much shorter in deleting SpyBot etc.

TonyT, thank you. MalwareByte data base was updated prior to run, scan show no infection.

I have the two files required, but would appreciate details on how to post files to Malware and Virus forum. Third file warns that this can cause damage to the computer, relunctant to carry out this step.

In the malware section, it tells you what to run. Then you Copy and Paste the results from the scan/scans in that section.

MrBill, trouble is that, the "Copy" "Paste" is not hilited. I have little experience in this field. Gmer and aswMBR when run show that : (yellow) 23:23:47.725 Service MpNwMon C:\windows\system32\drivers\MpNwMon.sys **LOCKED** 32. Scan finished successfully

Referring to the previous Post, Spybot was removed and has remained so. Error concerned with MS Securities Essential has now settled down for the moment without repetition, however and unfortunately I no longer trust MSE 100% and therefore make a check up several times during a computer session on the Internet in case error has returned and make a manual scan of computer using MSE to carry out this task. My thanks, for your continued interest to solve error.
