Ok, earlier today I was having problems with my drivers, but that's not the problem. So I decided to delete my ATI Catalyst Control Centre, I don't know why, I thought it would fix it:D Anyway, so then my screen went all weird and like it zoomed in and I just thought that I'd uninstall all my ATI stuff and then reinstall it. when I tried to reinstall it I can only get so far until I get the following message; "Setup was unable to complete in installation. Try to setup your display adapter with standard VGA driver before running setup." I have no clue what to do and any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

By the way, my graphics card is a ATI Radeon X700 pro

    Slick move ..........

You can use Driver Cleaner Pro to clean up the rest of your ATI remnants before trying to reinstall your drivers again. Lets us know how you make out.

    I know:cool:

So, I just used Driver Cleaner Pro, I set it to clean ATI, then I tried to reinstalled and I got the same message.

Use it again and reboot afterwards, before you attempt to install the drivers again. If you still encounter problems you can startup in safe mode, head into the Control Panel, go to System, Hardware, Device manager and change the display adapter to standard VGA. Then reboot and then attempt the installation.

    Good Luck

Ahh, everything is as it was before, thank you VERY much :D

Though during the install, ATI WMD stopped responding and had to close, and it did that every time I tried to install (reboot or not), I think it happened before a while ago but I left it alone. But I just thought I'd bring that to your attention.

So, should we assume that you have an All-In-Wonder card? And if yes, what version of the Catalyst drivers and what version of the Catalyst Control Center are you using?

I'd tell you if I could, but forget how to check that. But what I can tell you is I downloaded the latest drivers off the ATI site.

Also, upon start up, when I log in, I get this message; "Could not connect to ACE Runtime." and up top it says 'MACE', my friend tells me it stands for "Managed Access to Catalyst Environment" so it has to do with my card..
