I noticed a friends IE had a toolbar for favorites, it was accessed via "View->Toolbars->Favorites. I tried it on my IE, Version 6, and there is no such option.

eznoh--Do you have the toolbar with Back, Forward, Stop, etc? If so, right click on a blank spot|click Customize. In the window that opens you should be able to move Favorites from the left pane over to the right pane. Now the Favorites icon should show in your toolbar. When you click on it, your list of Favorites should open in a frame along the left margin. It will stay there as long as you are in that IE Window unless you click the X.
If you do not have a toolbar at all, post back.
(You should also have an active link to Favorites in your Menubar--right above the toolbar. Clicking on it will also open your list of Favorites in a very large cascade, but that list will disappear as soon as you use it or click elsewhere in the window.)

I already have the favorites button and that functionality. What I'm looking for is a toolbar with favorites on it.

    The IE window features:

Menu Bar (file, Edit, View etc)
Toolbar (back, forward, search, favorites etc)
Links Toolbar (ms links, can be customized by user)
Address/Location Bar (typed urls, go button etc)
Status Bar (shows status of link or page at bottom of window)

Yes I was confused (as usual), it turned out I was looking for the
'links' toolbar. It didn't turn into a toolbar of it's own until I dragged a few favorites to it. Thanks for everyones help!
