Not sure how to correct this. Uninstall, then reinstall IE9? Or restore IE9 to default settings?
Running Vista Home premium 64 bit. Thanks.

Hi XP dummy. Does IE9 crash randomly or can you reproduce the behavior?

Have you tried starting IE9 with no add-ons to see if the same problem occurs?

To run IE with no add-ons click Start< Run and type iexplore.exe -extoff and hit enter.

It appears to happen randomly, and I haven't tried anything yet. I've been waiting to hear from the experts.

This might or might not be related, but at times, when inputing info with the keyboard, there is a lag, or the info doesn't go in.

Additionally, there are times whens the cursor is jumping along with the spinning circle. (for lack of a better explanation)

I'll try the suggestion to disable the add-ons and see if that helps.
    Thanks for your help.

Well, I finally figured out how to run IE without the add-ons.
I'll report back later as to how that turns out.
    More thanks

I haven't been on most of the day, and it hasn't crashed so I thought I was out of the woods. Not so as it just crashed again. So it doesn't appear to be caused by any of the add-ons.
I still have a jumpy cursor.
    More thanks.

I tried this, and upon restarting IE, it crashed. I'm thinking I am left with uninstalling, then re-installing ?

I will follow up on the recent suggestions.
As info, I have run CCleaner a few times recently, but not sure of the timeline and how it coinsides with my IE troubles.
    Continuing thanks.

I have been using Microsoft Sercurity Essentials as well as Microsoft Firewall.
I had used Norton in previous computers, but found that it buried itself deep, and was all but impossible to get rid of completely.
I'll start a new post in the Malware forum detailing what's happening now.
    Thanks

You could use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall MBAM seeing as how you are having problems with it. Then reinstall it. Choose the FREE one. I do the 4th box I believe it is on the first screen when uninstalling anything. Then do the registry entries also. Never had a problem with any of it. Don't feel comfortable with it doing the registry, skip it.

After giving this much time since doing the maleware scans, IE9 is still having problems.

I keep getting the box that says that IE encountered a problem and had to close. Clicking the details, I get the message that it encountered a problem with the web site, and had to either close, or it will close, then reopen.

I'm getting the feeling that it's because IE9 is an older browser, and certain web pages are not displaying well in it. Any ideas? Thanks.

I would try installing the latest video driver for your system from here, Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows Vista* 64 (exe).

After the driver installs, reboot the computer for the changes to take effect.

Please download Autoruns. After you download the zipped folder on your desktop, right click the zipped folder and click Extract All. After the folder has been extracted open the regular folder. Run the autoruns.exe program by right clicking on it and selecting Run as administrator. When you open the program click the Logon Tab and then post a screenshot of all the startup entries in your next reply.

Can you post a screenshot of the Logon Tab of Autoruns please? Its much easier to analyze than trying to read the Autoruns log thanks.

If I remember correctly, there was a free trial of Norton preloaded when I got my cpu new, but I never did anything with it, as I was planning to use Microsoft Security Essentials. My previous experience with Norton on other cpu's was favorable, but I found it almost impossible to rid the machine of all of it's traces when trying to uninstall it.
