Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware on demand - no residents. WinPatrol as resident, SpywareBlaster with modified domain list. CCleaner available, but rarely used, MVP Hosts file.
Sunbelt Counterspy is my main AntiSpyware, daily scheduled scan.
Norton Internet Security 2009, does idle scans if pc idle for more than 10 mins, has a Insight program that scans known programs and depending on how well they're trusted it doesn't scan them every single time, making scans faster and also does a full system scan automatically whenever pc is idle for long enough to do it or you can ask it to do one, liveupdates on a streaming method, so can update multiple times a day and not just once a week, very impressed with the new things put into it and is great program as hardly uses any resources and have even played Sims 2 with it running in background and talking on MSN and no problems at all.

Reason: Missed a word out oops
I use AVG for everyday spyware, run Spybot Search & Destroy on a monthly basis and use Superantispyware (on my UBCD4WIN disk) when dealing with customers' virus problems. The latter will normally buy sufficient time to clobber the virus although it does not remove serious ones totally. For that, Spybot and AVG are the kings.
I run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware for frequent on-demand scans. It's not resident because McAfee Enterprise 8.7 doesn't play well with it (one of these days, I'm going to get rid of McAfee, but that's another story). I use Spybot occasionally, though less often than Malwarebytes. In the past, I used AVG and a-squared for scans, both in free versions, but had too many false positives and other problems and removed both. I also have SuperAntiSpyware free on my system, but I rarely use it.
I use Sunbelt's Vipre which is both AV & AS.
Before that I had CounterSpy for AS & Avira free for AV.
I often use Vipre's rescue program on customer's systems if I can't install AV/AS when it is badly infected. Then Malwarebytes
Then I manually remove the remaining junk if any using other programs I won't bother mentioning since they are beyond the scope of the question raised here.
I normally then install Avira, Spywareblaster, Spybot, Ad-Aware & Malwarebytes for those that don't want to py for AV/AS.
I don't use Spybot's hosts file -- I use MVPShosts & show the customer how to update/use these progs etc.
I am a Betatester for Trend Micro for 5 years now, i was also tester of the First beta's off Windows Defender, but i use most of the time beta versions of Trend Micro Security Pro and that has also a Anti Spy ware module. I do just for testing a lot of stupid things to get infected but that never happened so far! Got a lot of options in the pro versions against spyware, protection against webtreads and a website point system "save, not tested, dangerous"!
I Like that!
I run Trend Micro on a daily scan plus Threat fire as a continual scan. So far, I have not been infected, so it must be working given the number of spammers and other neerdowells that are out there.
