I inadvertently must have put my full name in some setting to get that to come up as sender in all my emails. I don't want it that way preferring not to be fully identified. Where is that option in TBird

Tools|Account Settings|your account. Look at the "Default Identity" part.
That section will have your own name, and the e-mail account. Delete your name, or enter some gibberish.

I could not find 'Your account' anywhere. Were you looking at Thunderbird 2.0.0.6??

Click on Tools | Account Settings, now highlight the Mail Account.

In the right panel scroll to the second field, which is Your name.
Edit the field and then click OK.

Close Thunderbird, and when you open the program again, the name will be changed on messages. Send yourself a message to view the change.
