Sorry for the late reply MrBill but yes that's the kind of thing I have... I'll keep a hold of it for another few years though.

16 quid for a 30 year old computer :( perhaps my grandkids cane make some money of it when they hit retirement age :(

Yes, thats not much for a 30 year old computer, definitely better to keep it, than practically give it away.
Vintage computers are generally not valued very high, except some really extraordinary devices. Thats nice, for someone who is collecting them.

You should see my collection of Commodore's (Vic 20, 64 & Amiga 1200) alongside the rest of my Speccys and the Acorns (Electron & BBC model B), not to mention my Amstrads. ;)

That sounds like a nice collection, several different manufacturers. Acorn and the BBC are the most exotic for me. I also have some Commodore Vic20 & 64's, Atari 600, Amstrad PC, etc. At the moment I have up and running Commodore 64 with cassette, diskdrive and dot-matrix printer. Olivetti M300-10 386SX pc with DOS4.01 & Win3.0, IBM 340CSE Thinkpad with DOS6.3 & Win3.1, and this 486DX2.
In my collection, Commodore 64 with its accessories is what I value the most. This 486 on the other hand, was one of the most challenging to get up and running. Remember all those jumpers on MOBO's, I/O cards, soundcards, etc. back in the days? With inadequate manuals, moving those jumpers and guessing what they will enable/disable...argh!
