I just got one of these because my ISP supplied Scientific Atlanta failed and I couldn't wait for them to put me on their 4 day schedule to show up.

It has a web console at 192.168.100.1 but I can't find one peep about the user name and password it prompts me for.

    Anyone have a clue?

It's up and running. I would just like to see signal strengths.

I take it you've tried the usual admin and admin.

    Yea Reggie I did.

But I think Tony is right. As soon as the ISP sent it a hit I could no longer get to 192.168.100.1

I may have to seek another modem. I would like to monitor signal strength.
Anyone got a model they like?

    zoom adsl modems use:
    username: admin
    pw: zoomadsl

You may want to try admin and zoomcable just for kicks.
Or as reg said, admin admin or admin password.

I have always found that routers with built in modems are far easier to set up than a stand-alone pair of modem and router. For home use, I like netgear routers. They are easy to set up and work fine. For more robust use, I like DrayTek a lot.

Reggie when I was at the big box store I was looking at a couple of all in ones. I should have went that route but I was lazy and didn't want to have to setup all the ports again. ;)
