I have removed instant access program with add/remove on my WinXP, but it returns each time I log on to the net. Im downloading spybot and preparing to update. Do I post the results for you all to let me know which way to go or do I do the same as Mike1Webster in Aug 04?

Get spybot, get ad-aware (see quicklinks in my signature). Update both then scan/remove. AFTER that, run Hijackthis and post a scan log from it. Note - the usual directions on HJT which is to unzip it to a normal folder (so not desktop, not a temp folder) before running the scan. Also, and very important with HJT is to only scan and post a log. Don't use it to clean anything just yet.

I have not rebooted with restore off yet. Pop ups still came back after Spybot. Adware found 146 critical items and quarantined them (Malware, Miners, etc,) but froze when ran a second time. Then I ran Hyjack and this is the log. Your suggestions are most wanted.. Thanks

It's way too late now for me to do an analysis so sometime during the day Saturday unless someone beats me to it. You do have at least a couple of baddies that Ad-aware and Spybot never seem to notice.

Before we get into a fix mode though, you gotta put Hijackthis into a folder that IS NOT a temp folder.
    C:\Documents and Settings\Dioni\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Directory 1 for hijackthis.zip\HijackThis.exe
    is no good.

Try making a new folder just for anti-spyware stuff and putting it there. Even into the same folder you are using for Ad-aware or Spybot would be fine.

Spybot found DSO Exploit, quarantined, immunized and still found it again, it also found MagicControl. Adaware found 14 entries of dminers and malware namely IWon, and Egreit? I've scanned, deleted temps, mywebsearch, egdaccess, temp internet folders even prefecth folder.
What am I missing? apparently this started since 11/4/04!
its really depressing to be trapped by this awfulness!

    Hi

The dso exploit you can ignore.

Still popups ? if so provide a url and description, when and where you get them would also help.

Yes SpyBot and ad-aware found and fixed things, but do they when ran a second time ?. dont worry about data minors, thats just cookies.

zipzaps url: Other History unknown folders;prog reinstalling!

    Zipzaps URL:
    http://www.zipzappromos.com/?id=2702&login=672125&mediaid_prefix=005&extparam=1:ARMdq=4lQUuMCopA7YUWjA&asked_billing_id=15

It shows up on the IE history folder
There is also another set of windows that I do not recognize or know why they're in the history folder for each day! They are:

    http://66.40.9.246/ct/?id=247&time=312e323136&extparam=1:ARMdq=4lQUuMCopA7YUWjA&ctype=0

    thats one of 5 windows:
    2) http://66.40.9.246/ct/?id=483&time=312e323136&extparam=1:ARMdq=4lQUuMCopA7YUWjA&ctype=0
    3)http://66.40.9.246/ct/?id=484&time=312e323136&extparam=1:ARMdq=4lQUuMCopA7YUWjA&ctype=0
    4)http://66.40.9.246/SA/computer_public_ip.php3?last_public_ip=66.185.45.164&browser_language=en-us&guid=ARMdq=4lQUuMCopA7YUWjA
    5)http://66.40.9.246/SA/receive_data.php3?rand=1105404769

The other item that continues to get reinstalled even after deleting with add and remove programs is:
    Instant Access

As soon as I go online two minutes after the pop ups come on and the zipzap folder appears as well. Yes, Adware shows the viruses on a second run - even after quaratined!1st run it showed 47, next it showed 14. Spybot showed Magic Control Agent: User settings (Registry vlue, nothing done) HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-677385553-38309227-550062113-1009\Software\mc\SA Why didn't it delete it?

Im now downloading the XP SP2, don't know if that would help. I guess lastly I would do the Beta?

I have such problem as it is right now- with MS Outlook trying to install Bus Mgr in order to get the emails (I have to hit the cancel button after each email for them to download) and the installation gives an error 1311 code that a particular cab file is missing.
I appreciate all the help I can get.
