I recently was given an unused Linksys USB wireless network adapter which I will have occasion to use on other computers - not my own. (I have installed the drivers directly from Linksys on my own computer and the wireless adapter works fine.) I downloaded the driver package from Linksys to a Flash drive and it came down as a Zipped file.

Should/could I open the zipped driver on the flash drive to install on other computers or should I copy the zipped driver to the other computer and unzip and install there? Since I will be doing this on other people's computers, I don't want to get into too involved and would prefer to do the installation and such on my flash drive - if that is possible.

No reason why you should not unzip the file on the USB drive to a folder on the USB drive - if the USB drive is large enough, and instal from there to other computers..

If not move the .zip file to your hard drive and unzip it to the USB drive.

    Thanks Pete,

Worked like a charm on the first one. Took me a couple of minutes to find the driver using the Wizard but what I discovered was that when I clicked on the installer from the flash drive, it installed a folder on the C drive called Linksys Driver. When I directed the Wizard there, it installed with no problem.
