Hello, new to the forum, let's see if anyone here can help me.

First off, the more annoying problem...my Windows Stacking, or the 'z order'. This is my exact problem, (save for the fact I don't have SP2 installed) stated rather succintly, so I'll just copy and paste it From Here..

"I'm having trouble with XP deciding for me the z-order of open application windows. Say I have several applications open, Notepad, Word document, browser windows etc. If I click an application icon in the taskbar to bring that window to top, XP does this but also brings what seems another randomly chosen window on top of the previous top window, so that it is now number three in the z-order, and not two or second topmost. Also closing one application sometimes brings a totally unrelated application window to the top, hiding the previous second topmost window. Alt+tab works as it's supposed, i.e. brings only one window to top and doesn't change the order of the rest. Is this a bug or some obscure setting I know nothing about? SP2 related? Anybody else noticed this? "

Also, I have a small music application I run, and simply clicking on that will bring up every other open, but minimized, window. It's really quite aggravating if I go to select a song and the application I am working on is suddenly covered by every other window that was open, but minmized to the taskbar.

I have looked -everywhere- for a solution to this incredibly annoying problem, all to no avail. My PC only came with a repair CD, not an original Windows disk, otherwise I would simply do a repair install, and I really don't want to go formatting my C:\, but I am at my wits' end. Does anyone know of ANY way, short of reformatting, to FIX this?

Now the other problem I've been having...my folder views. My windows\bag key -always- gets corrupt, so I have just resigned myself to the fact that every few months I have to delete it. I've used Tweak UI to increase the number of views it remembers, but it still manages to get corrupt. Now I've learned to live with that, because at least it saves it for a few months. But this is something different. I have a folder, called "Other MP3s ". I like to be able to sort them by date modified, but that is not always an option. So I go to "view" "choose details ", uncheck the few I don't want showing (duration, artist, etc.) I check "date modified ", and even move it up the list.

Well, that usually holds until I reboot, but sometimes it only lasts as long as I have WinExp open. I have checked, unchecked, and checked again the "remember each folder's view settings ", but no matter what I do, it always reverts to showing me the standard view for a "music folder ", which I have selected. I've also selected to view it as a photo album, AND a pictures folder, but nothing works, it always reverts back. I certainly hope someone here can help me.

PS, I've already tried creating another user, and yes, all these things still happen under a newly created user profile. Thanks for any help.
