Yahoo mail Security Alert: You are about to be redirected...

When I access my email messages in Yahoo email I get this alert:

Security Alert.
You are about to be redirected to a connection that is not secure!
The information you are sending to the current site might be retransmitted to a non secure site.
DO YOU WANT TO CONTINUE?
YES or NO


Yahoo has two options to receive email. One is STANDARD and the other is SECURE. I selected STANDARD so that I would not get the above mentioned Security Alert. I get the Security Alert message no matter which option I have selected.
This seems only to be happening with Yahoo email.
I have been using Yahoo email for several years and have never had a problem until I installed Windows XP professional. Is there something I can change to correct this problem? Have any of you had a similar problem? Any correspondence will be appreciated.

It sounds like yahoo mail is taking you to a secure page to log in and when it is re-directing you to your mail page your browser is generating the warning message. There should be a place on the message to put a checkmark stating that you do not want to recieve this warning in the future. Hope this helps.

If you don't want to see this message in the future follow these steps;

1. In Internet Explorer click on Tools, Internet Options.
2. In Internet Options select the Advanced Tab
3. On the Advanced Tab scroll down to the Security section and unselect the options "Warn if Changing between Secure and Not Secure Mode" and "Warn if Forms Submittal is Being Redirected ".

Rod, thank you for your reply. I had already done what you suggested. But I tried it again to make sure it applied. I unchecked the option again and I still have the same problem with Yahoo mail. Thank again for your support.

Just wondering if after unselecting these items you rebooted and still experienced it?

I use yahoo mail as well as some of their other services. If there's one thing I can say for Yahoo it is "they are consistently inconsistent ". The only method I've found that's proven to work for Yahoo problems is to wait. Usually the problems will disappear without any action on my part. Unfortunately they seem to have a habit of replacing the old bug with a new one. Maybe that's half the fun of using Yahoo.

 

Rod, I rebooted and I still have the problem.

rcerrato, I checked with my son who has Windows XP pro also. He uses yahoo email and does not have this problem. I may have to reinstall Windows XP to correct the problem.
