I am getting less and less impressed with Yahoo mail, for a variety of reasons, and I wonder if anyone has noticed anything which I am listing below.
I used to have downloaded e-mail as long as I wanted, but, fairly recently, I noticed that most old mail has disappeared. Right now, I have nine e-mails in my Inbox, the oldest being of 1/22. I cannot see any settings to make changes.
I got one new e-mail in my Inbox, today, and found five in the Spam folder, one of which was not Spam. I keep getting the same Nigerian scam e-mails, although I never opened or replied to a single one.
Fortunately, I can download, and keep my Yahoo mail in Thunderbird, using freePOPs, but, otherwise Yahoo mail is pretty useless. I don't know if it is a Firefox issue, or not.

I don't trust ANY web based emails....for Important mail.

Have you considered going back to your ISP's pop3 account?

I, never, left my ISP's POP3 account. Actually, I have four accounts, for different purposes. I use Yahoo mail, only, to receive a few newsletters, and, to communicate with a few friends who have, apparently, only Yahoo. I can take Yahoo, or leave it, as well as the newsletters. It is a low priority account, and I can save all my mail, using freePOP, anyway. I use the web-based Yahoo, only to remove, or route, properly, anything from the Spam folder.

Not a FF issue. Yahoo has been ,akimg changes to their backend recently and some Options settings are not available. Perhaps one of the seeting "keep messages" is not yet functional.

Yahoo antti-spam is horrible. It employs several blacklists as well as algorythms that are supposed to determine spam, but more often than not the messages I mark as "not spam" continue to be flagged as spam.

I too manage several personal & biz accounts (9) and I use the yahoo account for generic stuff like site logins, Web forms, newsletters, etc.
