Yahoo Booter

Hi all ... I am curious as to why when on yahoo chat rooms there are booter that boot ppl ... What do they ( these ppl ) use to boot ppl with ????.. I myself have ytunnel so i am pretty safe from it but its not always 100% though... Does anyone know ?

 

They are probably "ops" (operators) who have op status because either they started and therefore "own" the chat room or were given ops by the person who did. Every chat room founder has op status and can then grant ops to whomever he or she chooses.

Generally, op status is granted only after a person has been participating in a chat room long enough for the founder and/or other ops to get to know them and trust them to enforce whatever that channel's rules are.

If you're going to a chat room in which the ops are indiscriminately kicking people or otherwise misusing their power, it's probably time to find another chat room.
