xp

I have a question for someone who would know. Is it worth the trouble to install xp not knowing the troubles I will have with my printer and scanner and at the same time everything is almost perfect with windows 98 at this time?

 

I would not recommend it until you have no other choice. Win 98 is a good OS once you get it set up properly. You have little or nothing to gain by going to XP on the same machine and plenty to lose.

Thanks, I bought xp almost a year ago and have never convinced myself it would be worth it to switch.

 

My 2¢ is the same as Z's.

I run XP-pro and love it. Ran 2K-pro and liked it. In fact, I've run all of them except XP-Home so it isn't any sort of phobia.

98SE is an excellent operating system and if it is doing what you need, stay with it.

Chances are that XP wouldn't much like the hardware you have now anyway. It's a real hog and likes lots and lots of nearly everything and wants what it has to be fast.
