    Hi All,
Last night I was backing up photos on Roxio Direct CD and it hungup. After 30 minutes I clicked cancel. Roxio closed (I suppose) but left me with Microsoft Photo Editor hung up. I tried everything to get it to close but it would not. I tried ejecting the CD. I tried shutting down my computer. I even tried just turning off the power. None of these worked. So I left the computer on for the night and hoped that whatever was going on would be finished by morning. This very thing happened several weeks ago only it was Adobe Reader that was hung up and it did finish the process by morning and I was able to eject the CD and shutdown. Not so with the Microsoft Photo Editor. Can anyone help me close the program and shutdown. I did do a search and found references to the Roxio problems associated with shutdown but none of the articles had a reference to a program hangup combined with shutdown. I am not very computer skilled so patience with me is appreciated. Thanks for any help. Flustered

Can you do the three finger salute? Hit and hold these keys: CTRL-ALT-DEL and task manager might pop up. If so, go to the Programs tab, highlight the Photo software and then click End Task.

If your mouse or keyboard won't do anything your only choice is to "pull the plug" and force the system to shut down.

    Thanks Steve,

I had tried that 3 finger solute probably about 100 times - nothing was working. Everything froze up after that, couldn't even get my mouse to respond. Ultimately I did pull the plug. Went back last night and now everything is working fine. I will definately not use Roxio CD copy again! Thanks again. :)
