I was unable to boot XP, even in safe mode, so I "repaired" XP. I can now boot but Windows advises me on logon that my profile is corrupted and will create a temporary profile. I'm am set up to reload/format a fresh copy and start over (reloading programs, restoring data) but I don't know how to backup my Outlook 2003 data (e-mails and contacts especially) because I'm stuck in this temp profile. I've searched the threads and found one regarding the corrupt profile problem (Dez Bradley advised the best recourse is to reload XP) but did not specifically address how to save the Outlook data after the fact. Dez? Anyone? Thanks in advance.

You can copy the files to a disk or CD if you can navigate to
    Documents and Settings
    User name
    Local Settings
    Application Data
    Microsoft
    Outlook

There you will find extend.dat and outlook.pst - simply copy them to removable media and after your clean install, simply paste them back to the same location.

    ;)
