    Hello,

    This one has me confused:

Every once in a while the mouse pointer on my XP system will either jump elsewhere on screen or just stop for 3-5 seconds - then the mouse is fine.

I cleaned with 4 antispyware programs to no avail AND I wiped all mouse from S/W and registry. Upon reboot it found new H/W - the mouse and for two days all was fine - then it started doing this again.

I went to the control panel, Mouse, Hardware, and clicked troubleshoot and nothing happened! I have used these before so I was shocked they suddenly did not fuction. In fact NONE of the troubleshooters will now work.

Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated, oh and my mouse is acting out again too.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Hello Mike and welcome to the Board :)

You may have done in the troubleshooting dialog in the registry.

If you've uninstalled the mouse in DM and rebooted, and still a problem, can you try another mouse?

    What kind of mouse:

    Standard?
    Optical with a software install?

    Regards - Charles

    Troubleshooting gone

    Hi charlesvar,

The mouse I have is a microsoft wheeled optical. There is microsoft s/w intelli? with the mouse

Interesting you suggest trying another mouse as I was considering going to that step next to see what happens.

I will see what mouse I can find and get back.

    Thanks
