Hi Guys, I wonder if anyone can help me. I have just installed a new Canoscan 9000F Scanner on my Dell Dell Dimension 9150 - Running XP service pack 3. I am not sure if I have some sort of driver conflict but since installing the Canon Drivers + Scanner software my machine has been grinding to a halt and hanging - sometimes recovering sometimes not only to hang again.

I have used System Restore on a number of occasions and removed the Canon software in safe mode. I have run Kaspersky Antivirus and Malware bytes and Adaware but my machine seems to be clean of any malware or viruses. However I really do need to fix this problem and would be really grateful if anyone out their can help me to resolve this.

    Thanks Simon

The only thing I can think of is that the driver/software disc has an error or there is a fault on the scanner. As this is a new scanner and will be under guarantee I would return it to the place of purchase.

My only suggestion to fix this is to download the drivers from the manufacturers site and see if it will run OK without having the full software package installed. If this works without any further problems it will atleast prove that the scanner is OK. Then maybe you could get a new software/drivers disc from the supplier.
