XP SP3 Loaded Killed both DVD Drives

I downloaded SP3 from Windows Update and installation went fine except for the DVDs (2) are not showing. Device Manager shows them but the yellow ! is showing. Trying to update the drivers and there are none. Tried to roll back drivers and there are none there.

Shut down and unplugged drives and it would not start, indicating drives 4 an 5 were unplugged, Push F1 for xx, or F2 for Setup. Neither one would do anything.

Removed SP3 by way of Control Panel Add/Remove but the problem remains.

I'm not much on technical things like this. Will someone gives me guidance? There is a PC Repair some miles from here but have not heard any good things about them!

 

Before anyone bothers to reply to the above, I found the answer following Code 39 on Microsoft and deleting the upper and lower filters in a certain Registry File. I cannot remember the long file, but if you do the research you will find it.
