Resolved XP SP3 hanging on Shut Down

    Just thought I would record this small hassle. The latest update of DivX caused the above problem.
    As this had only just been Downloaded - I immediately uninstalled DivX and the comp shut down normally.
    Just a reminder to remember what happened prior to the trouble occurring. Neil.

    Thanks for the post Neil. :) I don't use DivX but I am sure its good to know that the latest version will cause issues in Windows.

    Hi markp62, I have VLC installed and use it predominantly. I have uninstalled DivX from the comp and all is back to normal.
    I was just making the point that it pays to remember what recent action has happened prior to the problem and it was a very short time frame. Div X update had just downloaded and the comp wouldn't Shut down to Restart.
    All over in less than 5 mins. Thanks Neil.
