Xp Sp2 [where to get the CD]

    Anybody have any idea where I can get a copy of SP2 for XP home ed. Lost mine on move. It was on a CD and I tried to find it on MS with no luck.

    i just tried finding it for you, and i too can only seem to find the download site, not the actual cd.

    Hmmm, that is odd, I can't find it either....
    Are you on dial up? It really doesn't take that long to download, unless, of course, you are on dial up

    Hey Dumb Terminal

    Yeah, thats my problem, im on dial up. If I was at the college I could use the T-!. They dont even have DSL in this area.

    I was on dialup until recently. I would start the download in the evening and I use Getright or use another download manager to keep it downloading. I know it is a hassle but sometimes you have to.
    Maybe someone you know could make a copy for you.

    Tom F--Very long shot. You could try phoning 1-866-PCSAFETY and see if MS could still send you one of the CD's. That number is MS' phone line for security issues, and SP2 is promoted as improving security.

    Roger on the copy, ill try my son and also make the call. I could use the program to keep the server open and download at night while I sleep, which is probably what ill wind up doing. Thanks Folks

    :) Guess what!!!!finally rooted out that CD for XPsp2. Man, that had me sweating. Installed it today. Does it contain up-to-date data or will my daughter have to download additions. I know there were some things missing just not how much to prepare her for. Thanks Again for the help :D

    After you have installed SP2 you should go onto Windows Update to download the patches and security updates issued since SP2 was released. - there are a few :)

    unfortunatly, there will always be more updates from M$, but hopefully they will be smaller downloads. glad to hear you got the cd.
