Following a successful new installation of XP Home on a new hard drive, I went to the Windows update website which identified 47 new updates available. These were all downloaded and installed, includiing SP2. However, after a restarting, features of SP2 are not present, such as Windows Security Centre. Also an icon (blue star) on the task bar has the message balloon saying Windows SP1 is supported only unitl Oct 2006, update to SP2. When I go to the Windows Update website to try getting SP2 again, it scans my PC and tells me that I already have SP2!
    Can anyone explain this mystery?

    hasty100 - Welcome to the Board :)

    First port of call ....

Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs - is SP 2 noted there? If it is try to uninstall it and log onto Windows Update again.
