 When I or anyone logs on to xp home, we get a information pop up:
    Windows XP Setup
! Please go to control panel to install & configure system components.
    OK..........
Well I've checked everything I could think of in the control panel & as far as I know it's all working fine. The programs, hardware, network, printers, plotters, etc.
If I knew which registry string to edit I would as a last resort.
    Any ideas?

start => run => eventvwr.msc and check your system and applications event logs for more details. If you find one or more events that look related, open the event, click on the icon below the up/down arrows (sends a text copy to the clipboard), and paste the text copy of the event to a reply here.

Limit yourself to posting not more than a half-dozen events though. Just the ones that look most closely related to the error.

The system area only had information of the cd starting & stopping.
No application hang up to speak of.
But in security I keep getting these failure audits.
