XP sound problem

I have reinstalled xp operating system and lost system sound. Media files and itunes files work fine. Device manager does not indicate any conflicts. Have tried deleting audio drivers (sound blaster audify 2 zs) and reinstalling without success. not getting any error messages, just no system system sound or sound from utube videos, etc. Help?

Go through the troubleshooting at Creative.

For example, there is a setting "Digital Output Only" that you can uncheck.

(You can make changes to the settings, but if it doesn't work, go back and reset it to original.)

 

Thanks for the suggestion. Went through the entire Creative troubleshooting site and nothing helped. Any other suggestions?
