XP slow "after" Win Updates

Why does the performance of the pc slow down drastically after performing the Windows Updates even after a defrag? How can I fix this and get the speed and performance back?

Yes, I've uninstalled that particular "hot fix ". The pc does boot faster and seems to have brought up the performance. Time will tell though. There are other "hot fixes" that need to be looked into for other reasons. Thanks again!
