    Hi All,

Not sure whether this should be here or in Hardware, but here goes:

I will shortly have 2 Gig or Dual Channel RAM (4x512) set at 2.3.2.6.

I was wondering whether there are any setting for XP Pro that will be be optimal for this large amount of RAM?

My PC is mainly used for gaming (I know this amount of RAM is rather excessive for that!)

I have used TweakXP in the past for some tweaks, but I am not sure whether those settings work after the next reboot and TweakXP is not running, or I have to set it each time.

Any other tweaks (BIOS etc) would be gratefully reveived also.

I use ASUS P4p800-SE motherboard. If this is better housed in Hardware - please move it.

Not aware of any specifics, but would go right click on My Computer Icon > Properties > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Visual Effects and check Adjust for best performance and on the Advanced tab in the same dialogue box set Processor Scheduling and Memory Usage to Programs.
TweakUIXP is a graphical user interface for modifying the Registry - changes you make in TweakUIXP stick.
