I get an error message during the early stages of trying to install XP SP3. The error says: service pack 3 setup error the file c:\windows\system32\services.exe is open or in use by another application. Not sure which application this could be. I disabled my security then tried again. Someone help me please. Thanks.

Hi dah1212. Welcome to Windowsbbs! :) Make sure you close all running applications and windows and then try running Windows XP SP3 setup again. If it still fails to install then try the solutions offered here. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949377
