Is there a way to get rid of the dog in XP search and make it look and work like W98SE or W2000?

I take it you don't like that little dog much? :) Did you know you can change it to some other character? Just double click on him and you will have another 3 choices to make. CHOOSE ANOTHER CHARACTER.....TURN ANIMATION OFF (probably the one you really want)...or....DO A TRICK. This is about as close as you can come to having it work like 98 or 2000.

Let us know if this is what you wanted so others can learn from this experience.

    :)

Irritating - YES - just like that dancing paper clip in Office!

Try this - Open search and from the menu in the left hand pane -
Change Preferences > Change files and folders search behaviour. If I remember correctly this will give you a search window aka 98 - and you can stuff the dog in the kennel too!

I use the Windows Classic interface and the mutt just isn't there :D
