Every time I reboot or log-off, XP asks me if I want to take a tour. It also forgets my settings, such as passwords and screensaver settings. Is this because of ccleaner or other s[yware programs I run. I noticed it after installing SP@

    hello hawkinsc,

Is this because of ccleaner or other s[yware programs I run.
Sure - why don't you try not running them (one at a time) for a period of time, if that works, then you can begin to track down the setting(s) that's causing it.

    Hi Hawkinsc,

Be careful with ccleaner. It will remove files you need if you let it. I found out the hard way too. :)

It seems to be made for power users anyway from what I read about the newest version.

I now use System Security Suite (3S) from: http://www.igorshpak.net/
Version 1.04 is the latest release. I've had no problems with it.

CCleaner got me so bad I couldn't recover. Had to save and reinstall. Hope you fare better than I did.
