XP reinstalled now pc not responding

    i reinstalled windows xp in emachines t1742 now its very very slow when it does respond or i get error message saying that its not responding what can be the problem please help going bonkers

    How did you reinstall XP? ......

    Using an HP Recovery disk?

    Booting from a retail copy of XP and making a clean install with format?

    Or?

    i used a copy of windows xp. iwas i suppose to delete the prrevious os , i typedelete but got message telling not to

    The correct method of reinstalling Windows when Windows is already installed is as follows .....
    You will also need to install the chipset drivers which can be downloaded from the HP site.
