XP Pro Save as dialog box

    For some reason, unknown to me, anytime I try to do a save as or a save in
    it takes a very long time when I click on the drop-down arrow to make my
    selection...I wait and wait and wait and wait...it will even go to (not
    responding for a bit and then come back to the hour glass before finally
    giving me my choices...don't know where to start on this one if you could
    offer any help I would greatly appreciate it. Have a wonderful day!! God

    What happens when you press control s (save)? Does the dialog box pop right up?
