xp pro low on ram

    can anyone tell me how you can load win xp pro on a puter with only 64mb ram?:confused:

    I used the cd winxp upgrade in my cdrom. Better have at least a 400 cpu tho! Memory is cheap unless ya got the old parity 72 pin stuff:)

    But even if you manage to do it, I doubt you will like it very much.

    As Rancher said, 128Mb sticks are around $35 these days.

    It MAY just boot with 64Mb, but will run like a Dog. Even with 128Mb Xp runs noticeably slower. 256Mb is really the minimum for XP. Even 2K will run slow with only 64Mb. If you can't upgrade to at least 128Mb+ stick with 98.
    XP will often use around 100Mb (depending on configuration?) just on idle doing absolutely nothing so you will be using virtual memory just to load the OS with only 64Mb.
