    Reformatting

I am not much of a knowledge base but my first reformatting started here http://everythingcomputers.com/reformat.htm. I printed it out and read it several times. Then did some underlining of things like FDISK, FORMAT C: /s, D:\Setup.exe. Then I created a CD back of what did not want to destroy.

I told myself why not!! If i gotta give someone bux to repair it for me I may as well try and hose it up real good before I take it to the shop. It never ran so good as after I reformatted it and I was a proud rooster!!

You better wait and see what the smart guys have to say.

    :D

    Edwardio,

If you want to format for a clean install, simply boot from the XP CD (you will need to set the bios order to boot from the
CD) and when it finishes it's scan for previous Windows installations choose the XP partition you want to format and setup will delete, format and do a clean install.

Do not do a quick format - select the full format option.
