I have a few Favorites that do not appear in the directory tree window when I attempt to "organize" it. I can certainly find it by other means or delete it right from the Favorites drop-down window. But.. what's with that? It is located, BTW, in a folder within the Links folder. Thanks, Lar

Hi, thanks for the link. It is actually IE6. The link seems to concern itself with alphabetical ordering of the Favorites. However, I will try the copy/delete thing to see if it re-registers the folder's contents. Lar

The Links folder is a "special folder" of IE. You can delete directories and shortcuts inside the links folder but if you delete the Links folder it will get recreated the next time you start IE. You can easily hide it though by navigating to documents & settings/username/favorites/links and rt click the links folder, select properties" and set it to "hidden ". You will get a prompt re subfolders & files to hide them as well. Voila! No more Links dir visible in IE favorites menus.

Thanks Tony. My issue here is this.... I have a few favorites in the Links subfolder that do appear in the Favorites pulldown menus but when I enter the Organize mode, they are not shown.

    Thanks, Larry

Usually, items in the Links folder are added by apps that brand IE or come preinstalled by oems such as Dell, HP, etc. These shortcuts (.lnk)s may have readonly properties or may be created by a 3rd party app when it is started/installed. If you want to keep the link then view the page and add it to favorites yourself into the desired target dir, then delete the original link.

Hi Tony, that is exactly how these were all added. I have added many favorites links with many subdirectories but just a few do not show in the Organize mode.
