    Hi,

    I have been using XP pro (sp2) now for several weeks - used to have 98se but did a complete reformat and clean install - and my PC has never ever behaved so well. Not a freeze, BSOD, or error of any kind, simply brill !!

    However;

    I run my FS games through a Leadtek FX5700 with the drivers installed by XP (which are 56.73). My games run great but Forgotten Battles only now runs in DirectX mode as OpenGL mode slows down to a crawl - FS9 is fine.

    I would like to use a proper Nvidia Forceware driver to have access to AA settings etc BUT everytime I attempt to load one it installs fine but after re-boot XP locks up solid ?? I've tried all types of drivers always exactly the same LOCKED SOLID! Thank god for system restore in 'safe mode' !!!

    This is not a big problem as my games do run ok with good FPS but I would really like a proper Nvidia driver with a UI for advanced settings.

    Any of you peeps have any suggestions :confused: ?

    P3 1100 mhz
    MS6156 MoBo (440bx)
    512mb SDRAM
    Leadtek FX5700 256mb
    DirectX 9.0c
    Onboard SB PCI 16v

    I know its old but it handles xP great and feels like a new PC now. :D

    Yesterday I downloaded NVIDIA's latest driver 6.6.9.3. You might try that, but create a restore point before downloading it just to be on the safe side.

    LJ,

    Sorry m8, as I said NO drivers work except XP's reference ones but they dont provide a UI to change AA settings etc!
