Check the size of your paging file and Temporary Internet Files setting. Set the paging file to the same size as your installed RAM and set the TIF size to 100 megs.

These dynamic files are not usually copied by any disk imaging tool however.

Run a trial run and place the image on a second hard drive, if you have such, and you'll be able to determine what the actual image size would be.

My c: drive is 6.78 gigs but I routinely get 3.16 gig images using Acronis True Image ver. 7 and it would fit on 5 CD's.

Me, if I find problems shortly into an installation, I will reinstall again. Consider removing/deleting and remaking the partition for the Windows drive (C:?). Is there a recovery partition involved?

I would wipe out and reinstall if I thought something was wrong. Mmmm...I would also check if there were any instructions for Windows installation at the laptop manufacturer's website.

    Just me.:)
