My computer is very slow loading pages. When pages are being loaded, it takes forever. But then it quickly loaded. And yet I still see " 1 item remaining" at the left corner of my monitor.
    Would that be lagging?

Or something? My OS is XP pro and I use IE 6. When I check the connection speed with my server it looks good.

When I installed XP, I did not do clean-install. Would that be a problem. I have been looking for solutions to fix my computer for quite sometime. Can anyone help me?

    Hi, VC ~

Since this seems to be your first post and your question is quite general in nature to the issue, I suggest that you may wish to use the 'Search' faeture at the right-hand top of this page to start as this issue has been covered in various aspects. :)

    Thanks

    Mr. Bruce Krymow,

Shall I do clean reinstallation of XP? Because when I installed XP I did not format my HD. I was using 98 before.

    Thanks.

    Hi, VC ~

I suppose since you are new to XP, those search results may not be of much help to you yet. I am reluctant to suggest someone simply reinstall the OS as do most first level support personnel, but this case may call for it.

When you say you did not format, what do you mean exactly? If you boot to the XP CD, you will be given the option to format your hard drive and partition as well. If you have not done that, then I do suggest you do a clean re-install.

Here is good place to start to educate yourself a bit about this process. A bit of reading, but once you do it, you really won't forget. :D
