Hello, i recently installed XP on my laptop, and for some reason it will not recognize the battery. It is always thinking it runs on AC power. I dont know what happens when it runs out of power cause i havent let that happen yet. How can i get XP to recognize when the power is coming from the battery??

    Thanks

Have you tried changing the settings in CONTROL PANEL > POWER OPTIONS. If nothing in there helps you may have a hardware problem.

    Good luck

Ya i tried changing stuff in there too, setting it to laptop/battery and everything, yet it still thinks its running on AC for some reason (and no its not plugged in when i try this, not that stupid). I know it is an XP problem because i didnt have this problem with windows ME and it cant be hardware, cause if it were hardware then that would mean the battery wasnt working at all, and if it wasnt working at all, how could the laptop be running if it isnt plugged in??
