Just installed XP Pro on the new PC I've built and, thanks to windowsbbs, got my modem working. I have transferred across some favourite programmes from my old PC and they all work OK. I can drag their icons to desktop to start them but can;t see them on the "Programme list" from the start menu.
Two questions, can I get them on the prog list any way AND can I have a taskbar with icons on at the bottom of the screen like Win 98.
(What would we do without WindowsBBS?

Right click on the task bar select properties put a check by "show quick launch ".

Right click on the task bar again and unlock the tool bar. A dbl vert dashed line will appear on the task bar and can be dragged to make it bigger. Lock the task bar and you are set to drag icons to the quick launch space.

You can drag icons to the Sart Button (Pause) then to all Programs (Pause) then to the program list (anywhere) and drop. Then right click on the added icon and select "sort by name ". And, as Gomer Pyle said "Viola ".

You can still make your own toolbars that show on taskbar or modify/customize your Quicklaunch toolbar.

Shortened condensed version of an explanation:
Try a right click on the task bar and make sure your Quicklauch is checked. Drag short cuts onto it.

For a more detailed explanation you'll have to search help-nets archives or use your own startbutton>help or friendly google.com.

I have to run and fix lunch for kiddies, if you haven't found the inf you need by the time I get back I will either type it out or drag it out for ya'. You don't want to miss out on customizing you quicklaunch toolbar. (Possibly pinning these to your start menu may also be a treat you need to explore.
