have been reading up on limited accounts and what they can or can not do but want to check here first for definite answer.

have a small motel that has a computer in the lobby for guest to use for checking their emails. unfortunately its a win98 machine and the guests are downloading and infecting machine big time even with preventions i have put on machine. going to sell them a basic xp machine and was thinking of setting up a limited account for the guest to use.

so my question with limited will they be able to access the web ??? i know they wont be able to download or install programs which is good but will they be able to check their email. i believe i know the answer but again want to check here first before i give proposal to motel.

    thanks.

I have created a Limited Account on my XP system.
You can access the internet, including starting a dial up connection.
You can access email, including using OE.
You can run most installed programs, unless the program does anything that would affect system wide settings. Spybot is one program that will not run on a Limited Account, it looks at system wide settings.
A Guest account on my machine could not access the internet, as it could not start up a dial up connection. If you had a DSL already operating, I believe you could then access the internet.
