I have a Laptop running xp home..I want to connect an external monitor..I want to use this monitor for game playing only..I have it connected and works good..I can drag and drop windows to it..but when I play a game..it shows up on both screens..I tried dragging the shortcut to the new screen but still played on both..any ideas on how to have the game open and play on the connected monitor? Thanks!

JC - Welcome to the Board :)

On most, if not all laptops, there is an Fn key which when pressed enables the secondary function for some other keys. You may have noticed that some keys have two designations, one in a different colour, often blue.

These 'blue' keys are activated while the Fn key is held down. One of these keys will have a monitor symbol on it.

Holding down the Fn key and repeatedly pressing the monitor key should toggle the display through the following sequence ...

Laptop screen > External monitor > both - not necessarily in that order.

If you have a manual for the laptop it should be explained there.
