    Hello,
Went to shutdown my PC today and after clicking shutdown, it goes through the motions of shutting down, the screen goes black and then puts me right back to my desktop. I havent loaded anything recently?? Any ideas! Thanks.

    Hello Smadman,

Have you done any Windows updates lately?

If you boot up in safe mode, can you shut down from there?

If you can, then its probably not Windows, but an application. Go into msconfig and disable your apps from starting up. Then enable them one by one going thru the shutdown with each one added.

    Regards - Charles
