XP Home Trouble Big Time

Hi,

My operating system is Windows xp Home edition
with an AMD 1200 MHz CPU.

768 Ram with 70 GB hard disk (30 + 40)

LG CD Writer, LG CD Rom 8521b .

I am having the following problems:

1. I have gone to "Start, Control Panel, Power options,
clicked tab APM and marked enable adavanced power managment, in accordance with MicroSoft XP support in order that my computer will shut down when i click on " turn computer off ".

But...for some unknown reason even with this change that once solved this shutting off problem, my computer now refuses to shut off and just restarts.

2. My computer worked well till 2 weeks ago when my CD Rom short cut placed on my desk top stoped working.

I deleted it and made a new short cut but this did not help, i still get the pop up warning that " H:\ is not accessible , In correct function ".

I have checked with "Device Manager" and all is fine there, so every time i want to use my CD Rom...i must Uninstall and Reinstall my CD Rom for each disk i place in it.

My CD Writer (Burner) works well.

In Closing

I have had all my equipment checked and all is well thank god!
I restored my computer to an earlier date but this did not help.
I have reactivated my computer 4 times and this does not help.
I have scaned my computer for viruses and am virus free.
I am completely updated with Microsoft updates.

Due to this operating problem i can not function in my field of Photography.

I will appreciate it greatly if someone can help solve this Windows XP BUG!
