    Hi,
I've installed a Promise sata card (SATA300â„¢ TX2plus) on my system (XP home sp2) and attached a sata II hard drive. The problem is that windows seams to think it's a hot swap drive and I get the "safely remove hardware" constantly in the systray. Is there a workaround?
P.S.: so far I've tried uninstalling the card, updating drivers but the icon problem persist.

That's normal to see that on many mobo's/controller cards.

Best you can do is to use the taskbar hide feature and hide the icon.

  3. to hide this advert.

It is :) - all my 3 SATA internal drives are under Safely Remove Hardware.
