xp home recovery cd

    i have gateway 510x desktop that came pre-installed with xp home, but i did not get any cd's with the pc. the case has a microsoft certificate of authenticity on the side. is there anyplace i can get a copy of windows xp home, with the service packs so i could create a recovery cd and be able to do a fresh install?

    You have quite a few options:
    1. Your computer may have recovery partition; if used, it'll return the computer to its original state. To access the partition, press F11 at Gateway logo.
    2. You may have a program on your computer for creating recovery CD.
    3. You may obtain recovery CD from Gateway; usually at shipping costs
    4. Buy full version of Windows XP at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Windows-Professional-Full-Version/dp/B00022PTI4; you'll need to find and install some drivers, though.
