I'm running Xp and have an IBM Ideascan scanner. I have installed the appropriate software (I had to addd several Dll. files) to finally get the program working but the final step is for the software to connect to the Scanner.

Xp does not recogniae the scaner as being physically connected although all the cables are secure and the unit is turned on.

    Any Ideas???

    Hi Fanceydave
Did you find the appropriate drivers? Perhaps this page will help?

fanceydave: I had the same problem just a couple weeks ago when I got my new Dell with XP, but my scanner is a Visioneer, 2-3 years old. Like you, I'd hooked up everything and loaded all the drivers, but XP wouldn't recognize it as being connected.

I'm not familiar with your IBM scanner. But unless it's even newer than my Visioneer, it may now fall into the insulting category of "legacy" hardware and no longer be supported. I sure hope you have better luck than I did.
