    It also takes a very long time after you click on it to give the menu of what you want to do.

    I am not sure which it is -- the drive is not recognized, or it is recognized and the menu is slow on a new disk insertion.

    It if is the latter:
    • Disable autoplay. XP is wasting time trying to figure out if it should play or burn the new inserted CD;
    • Limit your CD Rom Menu Handlers: TweakUI a free download from Microsoft allows you to edit existing CD Rom Menu options.
    • Add your favorite program: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/add_burner.htm

    Thanks for responding, It was the first by the way but I'll take a look at your third option anyway.

    Out of the 5 or 6 cd burning programs, I finally found one that worked. It must have been a burner software problem instead of XP. Thanks for the advice anyway.
